HENRY 2K-3 Kilowatt Linear
Amp

The next area that I looked at was the
Power Supply. The power supply sits in the bottom
of a cabinet, the RF deck sits into the
top. Oh yes, there was no blower or bottom plate on
the finals enclosure. A few years back
I ran into a nice quiet and efficient blower that I
thought might be sufficient for cooling
the tubes. So, I fabricated a new bottom plate:
It's shown marked for dead center
below and between the finals. when fitted into the bottom
cabinet there is just about no place
for any leakage. I think I'll probably use some rubber to
make the fit a bit tighter anyhow...
Here's what it looks like with the blower on the plate:
The nice thing about this blower is that
it seems to move a lot of air and is pretty darn quiet! Should it
turn out not to have enough flow or pressure,
I'll mount a bigger blower in the base cabinet with a
flex hose (like a vacuum cleaner hose)
up to a flange where this one is now... that'll keep it quieter than
a hard mount. Here's a look at where
the squirrels run:
Well anyhow that's the blower... The
power supply had more wrong with it, and that's before
I've fired it up!
